Later In The Evening...

As Halle closes up shop and heads home, Dean prepares dinner.

 

 

Halle makes it home after working a fourteen hour shift.

 

Halle- "Mmmm, smells good", while she places her bag and scarf on the table.

 

Dean- *smile* "Hey you."

 

They meet each other halfway and kiss.

 

Halle- "I missed you."

Dean- "Likewise, I thought I was gonna have to come get you myself."

Halle- "Six more days."

Dean- "Too long."

 

Dean makes his way back to the stove to check on the meat and Halle follows behind him.

 

Halle- "I know, but it'll be over before you know it."

Dean- "Can't wait."

Halle- "Well, I'm going to go take a nice hot shower."

Dean- "Okay, dinner will be done soon."

Halle- "Thanks for cooking babe."

 

She gives him a kiss, grabs her things and heads for the shower.

 

Thirty Minutes Later

 Dean is done cooking and fixes both their plates.

 

 

Halle emerges from the bedroom and they sit down to have dinner.

 

Halle- "How was your day?"

Dean- "It was good.  I hit the course with Shane, my dad and a few of my buddies."

Halle- "And how are they doing?"

Dean- "Good, everyone sends their hellos.  Oh, Olivia was there."

Halle- "Golfing!?"

 

Dean- "Yeah, she was there with my buddy Landon."

Halle- "What about Shawn?"

Dean- "Don't know, you'll have to ask her."

Halle- "Oh no, I hope everything's fine."

Dean- "I'm sure things are fine."

 

Dean- "More for you?"

Halle- "No thanks.  I'm going to head to bed."

Dean- "Okay, I'll take your plate."

Halle- "Thank you."

Playing Catch Up + 2 New Team Members

Halle goes into the shop a few hours earlier than usual to tackle the piled up paperwork, unanswered emails, return phone calls and so forth.  Also, with Talia on a weeks vacation, Tish's resignation (due to her out of state move), Halle has hired new employees and scheduled an early morning orientation and training session.

 

 

A few hours later, as Halle finishes up, her new hires, Tiffany (So in Style doll) and Carra (Fashionista doll) arrive.

 

Halle- "Good morning ladies and welcome back to Elle La La."

Tiffany- "Good morning."

Carra- "It's nice to be back."

 

After hellos and introductions, Halle gives them a tour of the shop.  She leads them to the back pointing out the break room, rest rooms, time clock and emergency exit.

 

Once they make their way back to the front, Halle reminds them where her office is located and points out the fitting rooms in the corner of the shop.  Then she puts them on the registers for some hands on training.

 

 

Halle had Tiffany and Carra do a few mock transactions, which they nailed.

 

Halle- "Great job ladies."

Carra- "I've been doing this forever!"

Tiffany- "Thank you."

Halle- "Any questions?"

Tiffany- "Yes, what's the return policy?"

 

Halle- "Fourteen days, with a receipt and it has to be in its original condition."

Tiffany- "Cool."

Carra- "Wow!  Fourteen days is long."

Halle- "I think it's pretty fair."

Carra- "I know a lot of girls that like to wear their new clothes with the tags on and then want to bring 'em back.  I say three days max.  It's hard for many of 'em to get back to make a return that quick."

Halle- "If that becomes an issue, we'll have to rethink our return policy."

Carra- "That's all I'm saying."

Halle- "By the way, if you do have a return or exchange, you'll have to call myself or Talia, who you'll meet next week, to authorize it."

Tiffany- "Is that the supervisor?"

Halle- "Yes."

Carra- "Why won't we meet her until next week?"

Halle- "She's on vacation."

Carra- "Oh!"

Halle- "Any other questions in regards to the checkout procedures?"

Tiffany- "No."

Carra- "Nope."

 

For the next twenty minutes Halle familiarized the ladies with the shop policies, dress code, attendance and expectations.

 

Halle- "Any questions?"

Carra- "Yeah, when do we get paid?"

Halle- "Biweekly on Fridays and you can either pick up your check here in the shop or have it direct deposited."

Carra- "No, I'll pick mine up."

Tiffany- "I would like to do the direct deposit."

Halle- "Sure, I'll give you the paperwork and have it done first thing tomorrow morning."

Tiffany- "Thank you."

Halle- "You're welcome.  Any other questions?"

Carra- "Nope."

Tiffany- "No."

 

With no more questions, Halle closes out the orientation and training session.

 

Tiffany leaves and is due back at 2pm, while Carra stays to work the morning shift alongside Halle.

A Boutique Makeover

Things at the boutique have been going pretty well.  So, when a business retired next door after forty wonderful years, Halle got excited with the idea of possibly expanding her shop.

 

After many negotiations with the owners, she was able to acquire the space and have the wall knocked out.

Home Sweet Home

The couple has made it back from their honeymoon.  After taking time to rest, they decide to tackle the piled up furniture in the front end of the apartment.

 

 

They start with the kitchen tables.  Both decide to keep Halle's and donate Dean's to charity.

 

 Dean- "There."

Halle- "Cool."

 

 Dean- "Where do you want these?"

Halle- "Closet."

 

 Halle- "I can take the one on the top."

Dean- "That's okay, I got it."

Halle- "Are you sure?"

Dean- "Yep."

Halle- "Okay."

 

Dean moves the bins into their bedroom closet, while Halle scans the room to figure out where everything else should go.

 

 

Dean re-enters the living room.

 

 Halle- "What do you think about these in the guest bedroom?"

Dean- *grin* "Just awful."

 

 Halle- *smile* "Ha ha very funny."

Dean- *jokingly* "Babe, does it really matter."

 Halle- "Yes, your opinion matters."

Dean- *grin* "Yeah right," while picking up the ottoman.

Halle- "Thanks babe."

 

For the next few hours, they continue to move furniture around and unpack a few boxes.

 

At the end of it all, Halle and Dean crashed on the sofa, ordered a pizza

 

 

and searched for a good thriller to watch on Netflix.

Quick Tip: Buttons Make Perfect Miniatures

When I spotted these scissor and wood buttons at Hancock Fabrics recently, I knew that they would be good for barbie doll scale.  The wood buttons were picked up to be used as bowls.

 

 

The fabric shops are a great place to look, since they have such a huge selection to choose from!

I came across them on my most recent trip to the store and picked up this vacuum set.



 

The others are the glam microwave and breakfast sets.

Already A Few Days In

Dean and Halle wake up to a delicious waffle and fruity breakfast and can't believe how time is flying!

 

They've really been enjoying this time together and have planned a few activities for today.

Let's see...

~ A romantic morning stroll on the beach

~ Explore the island on a cool safari jeep tour

~ Visit one of the local restaurants for a sushi feast

 

 

At the end of an adventurous day, they make it back to their room, get cozy on the sofa and doze off to sleep.

The Water Bungalow Tour

Hello everyone!  Putting this room together was really fun and refreshing.  I was inspired from different Tahiti photos and did my best to recreate a romantic tropical atmosphere for Halle and Dean's honeymoon bungalow.

 

 

The scrapbook and craft paper were all picked up from Hobby Lobby.  On the walls are the 'Wood Fence' sheets and the sheet on the floor is the 'Burlap'.

 

The window view is from an old calendar and the window frame was created using a few craft sticks.

 

I put together all the furniture pieces, added a delightful welcome basket and arranged the flowers to make it more cozy.

 

 

All three wall paintings were made using scrapbook and craft paper.
