Taking Care of Business

Halle and Dean are on their...

*Not long ago Dean, Shane & Miles (Dean's father) collaborated with Clark Gilbert & Co. on a high rise in Miami.  Well, it's complete, so a celebratory party was planned.

 

 

Meanwhile...

 

 

Kelly and Kiko post up outside of the bakery handing out free samples.

Sampler- "Wow, can I try 1?"

Kelly- "Of course."

Sampler- "Whoa, these are really amazing!"

Kiko- "They're the best cupcakes in town!"

Sampler- "Can I have 1 more?"

Kelly- "Absolutely."

Kiko- "I hope you come back to visit us and let all your friends and family know."

Sampler- "Done and done."

 

 

Alex works her model job.

 

 

When she's done, she grabs a quick bite to eat and goes over to the movie audition.

 

 

The room is packed, but Alex keeps her nerves in check and practices her lines.

 

 

Halle & Dean arrive in Miami.

 

They claim their bags and catch a taxi to the hotel.

6 o'clock

Halle is home from work (Dean's still working) and Carissa has come over.

They sit outside and talk for a little while.

 

They've shared their stories, Halle about Amber and Carissa talks about her date with Oliver.  They end their conversation with Carissa's night with Jessie.

 

Halle- *grin* "Way to go, Carissa."

Carissa- "I had an amazing time with Jessie, but then I got to thinking...what if spending the night with him wasn't the best idea.  The first time we went out wasn't a shining moment.  But, we remained friends.  But now, with this intimate factor, what if we pursue things and it goes horribly wrong?  There goes a friend.  This was way too irresponsible."

 

Halle- "Carissa, you're one of the most responsible dolls I know.  You're really overthinking this.  It's okay.  It's not the end of the world.  Just have some fun."

 

 

Shane gets a call from Kelly

(They have a date planned for later in the evening.)

 

Shane- "Please don't tell me you can't make it."

Kelly- "I hate to do this again, but work is calling."

 

Shane's a little disappointed- "I understand.  We'll get together some other time."

Kelly- "Sorry Shane."

 

They hang up. 

 

 

Alex at a Dance Audition

 

One of the Talent Casters- "Thank you, we've seen enough.  We'll be posting numbers on the door shortly, so be sure to check for your number to see if you've made it into the show."

 

Alex- "Thanks."

6 in the Morning

Jessie and Carissa are snoozing.

 

 

Meanwhile,

over at the Waverly's place...

 

Halle kisses Dean goodbye.

Halle- "I'll see you later babe.  Have a good day at work."

Dean- "You too, I love you."

Halle- "I love you too."

 

Then she's out the door.

 

 

At Mocha Velvet

Kelly is meeting with Kiko (recommended by Dean), who's going to help with marketing, promotion and anything else she needs to get business on the up.

 

Kiko's just had samples of a few of Kelly's desserts.

 

Kiko- "Your stuff is absolutely delicious."

Kelly- "Thank you."

Kiko- "Okay, now..."

 

Kiko- "It's going to take time for change, along with my friend focus, good old determination and a ton of patience."

Kelly- "Well, I'm all in, whatever it takes."

Kiko- "Fantastic."

 

 

The Boutique

Tiffany and Amber are working the morning shift with Halle.  They all prepare for opening.

Halle- "I need you to place these items in the machine, along with the ones in this box."

Amber- *in a whisper* "Ugh, I hate this."

Halle- "What was that?"

Amber- *sniff* "Nothing, Halle."

Halle- "Amber, please turn around and talk to me."

Amber turns with tears in her eyes.
Halle- "Amber, what is going on?  Is there anything you want to talk about?"

Amber- "No!"

Halle- "Can I talk to you in my office?"

Amber- "Why not here?"

Halle- "Look, Amber, maybe this isn't the best fit for you."

Amber- "Huh?  What?  Does that mean you're firing me?!"

Halle- "I'm so sorry, Amber, but it just isn't working out.  I truly hoped that-"

Amber- "Save it!"

 

Amber throws the shoes down

 

And hustles out the door.

Tiffany- "Halle, I'll load the machine.  I'm done with the mannequins."

Halle- "Thanks Tiffany."

 

As Tiffany works with the machine, Halle goes to take care of the paperwork for Amber's firing.

Making Rounds

Dean arrives at the boutique.

He brings Halle lunch and picks up the keys to Alex's place.

 

Halle- "Thanks babe."

Dean- "No problem."

*kiss goodbye*

Dean- "I love you.  I'll see you at home."

Halle- "Okay, love you too."

 

Dean pulls up at Alex's townhouse and Ethan's standing outside.

 

Ethan- "Hey Dean, I thought Halle was coming."

Dean- "You sound disappointed."

Ethan- "No, nothing like that."

Dean- "Let's get the door open."

Dean- "There you go."

Ethan- "Thanks.  Please tell Halle I said thanks again."

Dean- "Sure."

 

Mocha Velvet isn't far from Alex, so Dean decides to stop by to check on things.

 

He finds Kelly in the kitchen.  They get to talking and she hesitantly voices

her worries about the slowing down of business.

 

 

Dean does his best to reassure her that things will work out.  It's just going to take some time.  And maybe hiring some extra help with marketing will lift some of the weight off her shoulders.

Kelly- "I'll do that."

Dean- "Remember we're in this together, so call for anything and you can come by the office anytime."

Kelly- "Thanks for the reminder.  It makes me feel a whole lot better."

 

Meanwhile...

 

Carissa returns Oliver's call.

Carissa meets Oliver for Breakfast

About two minutes into their meal, Oliver takes the floor...

 

"Have you ever been married?"

Carissa- "No."

 

Oliver- "Me neither.  Ever asked?"

Carissa- "Nope."

Oliver- "Have you ever been in love?"

Carissa- "Once."

Oliver- "Do you think about him?"

Carissa- "Maybe in a how is life going for him kind of way."

Oliver- "I see...do you have any addictions?"

Carissa- "Um, no I do not."

Oliver- "That's awesome.  Do you like kids?"

Carissa- "Yes, I love kids."

Oliver- "Do you have any?"

Carissa- "No, not yet."

Oliver- "Hm, so you would like to?"

Carissa- "Without a doubt."

Oliver- "Great, that's something we have in common.  I want 4."

Carissa- "...Cool."

Oliver- "Would you call yourself a saver or spender?"

Carissa- "..."

 

Meanwhile, Kelly comes out from the kitchen to check on things.

 

Kelly- "Doing okay out here?"

Francesca- "Things are kinda slow.  Should I be worried boss lady?  I mean it's kinda been a trend lately."

 

Kelly takes a look around the café- "No, things are good."

 

Kelly- "I'm gonna finish up in the kitchen, holler if you need me."

Francesca- "Okay."

 

Carissa and Oliver have finished eating.

 

Oliver- "Thanks so much for having breakfast with me."

Carissa- "Sure, it was...interesting."

Oliver- "I'm sorry, I'm aware that I pounded you with questions."

 

Oliver- "I didn't want to waste any of our time seeing if we were compatible.  I hope that I haven't scared you away and you'll take my future calls and give me a chance."

 

Carissa- "Well, it was a bit uncomfortable.  Although, I do appreciate your honesty and understand to some degree, so...I wouldn't mind seeing you again."

 

Oliver- "Wow, I am so happy to hear that."

Carissa- Well, thanks for breakfast, but I really have to get to work.  Have a safe trip back to Connecticut."

Oliver- "Have a great day at work."

 

They say their good-byes and Carissa leaves not completely sure about Oliver, but she's willing to see where it goes.
