After 10 pm ~ Walking Out

Alex's Place

Halle calls Alex.

Halle- "How did the audition go?"

Alex- "I didn't get it."

Halle- "I'm sorry."

Alex- "It's okay, I'll find others."

They don't talk very long, since Alex senses there's something on Ethan's mind.

Ethan- "I tried to call you today."

Alex- "You called me 7 times.  And I spoke to you 6 of those times, Ethan."

Ethan- "Why didn't you pick up the other time?"

Alex- "I can't pick up every single call.  I was really busy today.  There was a modeling job, then I had to spend hours auditioning.  You have to cut me some slack."

Ethan- "Well, we're still working on this trust thing.  I need to know where you are."

Alex- "Ethan, I am NOT cheating on you."

Ethan- "How do I know that?"

Alex- "Holy crap!  This is exhausting.  I cannot continue to have this same conversation."

Ethan- "And you think that I want to?!"

Alex- "Seems that way to me!"

Ethan- "Alex, I'm really trying here.  But, when you don't answer my calls, WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK?!"

Alex- "I WAS WORKING!  But you know what, Ethan?  There's an easy fix to this."

Ethan- "Please enlighten me, Alex!"

Alex- "This relationship is over!  You go your way and I'll go mine.  I don't need the stress."

Ethan- "Ugh, fine, I don't need the stress either!"

Alex- "Before you walk out that door, leave my key."

Meanwhile...

Dee and Jay's Sports Bar

Sarisha- "Okay, you've been extra chipper tonight.  What's going on?"

Jessie smiles and says nothing.

The Hospital

Carissa finishes up with a patient and goes to her office.

Carissa- "Oliver, what are you doing here?"

Oliver- "Don't worry.  I'm not here for trouble."

Oliver- "I need to know, why would you do that to my mother and I?"

Carissa- "Um...well, it was too much for me.  Your mother at dinner totally threw me for a loop.  So, I kind of panicked and ran."

Oliver- "I have feelings too.  You called me for this date.  You should have never led me on, Carissa."

Carissa- "You're right and I'm so sorry that I hurt your feelings."

Oliver- "That's it?  You're sorry?  Please don't ever call me again."

Then he turns and...

Walks out the door.

Carissa's Date

Halle calls Carissa.

 

Carissa- "Hey Halle."

Halle- "Hey, are you okay?"

Carissa- "Yes.  Thanks for checking on me, but I'm still at home."

Halle- "Does that mean you're not going?"

 

Carissa- "No, I'm meeting him at the restaurant."

Halle- "Oh, well, cool, have fun and be safe."

Carissa- "Okay, I'll call later.  Love."

Halle- "Love."

 

Carissa arrives at the restaurant and Oliver is already there waiting.

She gives him a friendly hug- "Hello."

Oliver- "Hi, you look beautiful."

Carissa- "Thank you."

Judy- "She really is beautiful, Oliver."

Carissa- "Um, thanks and hello.  I'm Carissa."

Oliver- "Oh, this is my mother, Judy."

Carissa- "Your mom...wow, um, well..."

Carissa- "It's nice to meet you."

Judy- "Likewise, I've heard much."

 

Seconds later they take their seats at the table.

Oliver- "How has your day been so far?"

Carissa- "It's been great."

Judy- "I have to say, my son is absolutely smitten with you.  I think it's wonderful that you want kids and it was refreshing to know you've never been married.  No lingering bitterness."

Carissa- "Uh-huh, I-I've never been married and I do want kids.  That is true."

Judy- "Tell me, what does your 5 year plan look like?"

Carissa- "Could you excuse me for a moment?"

Oliver- "Where are you going?"

Carissa- "The ladies room."

 

 

In the Ladies Room

~What is happening?  Is he for real?  What possessed him to bring his mother?  Oh gosh, I can't bare it.  Just leave, Carissa.  Yeah, that's what I'll do.  Hmm, there has to be a back exit.~

 

She leaves the restroom, carefully maneuvers her way through the restaurant and out the back.

 

Not quite ready to go home, she stops by Dee and Jay's.

Jessie's working the bar.





Carissa- "Hey Jessie, can I have a martini please."

Jessie- "Gotcha."

Jessie- "How are things?"

Carissa- "Not too hot right now."

Jessie- "What's going on?"

Carissa- "I just snuck out of a dinner."  It begins to hit her, "Oh no, I've snuck out of a dinner!  I have to go back."

Jessie- "Not so fast.  I'm sure you have a legit reason."

Carissa- "It's this guy."

Jessie- "See, pretty legit."

Carissa smiles

Jessie- "So, what happened?"

 

Carissa tells him about it.

Well, hello there.

Oliver- "Thought I scared you away there, Doctor."

 

Carissa- "Of course not.  I'm sorry I didn't return your call sooner.  Busy me."

 

Oliver- "Please say it's only work and not another guy that's been keeping you busy." *lol*

Carissa- "No, mostly work and I helped my cousin and her husband move."

 

Oliver- "Would you ever consider moving to Connecticut?"

 

Carissa- "Umm..."

Oliver- "You know what, don't answer that.  I have another question for you."

 

Carissa- "What's that?"

Oliver- "When can I see you again?  I promise to take it easy on the questions."

 

Carissa- *smile* "Well, since you've promised...

Carissa- "When's the next time you'll be in New York?"

Oliver- "3 days."

Carissa- "Great, we can get together then."

Oliver- "Swell."

 

Oliver has to get back to work, so they say goodbye.

Carissa meets Oliver for Breakfast

About two minutes into their meal, Oliver takes the floor...

 

"Have you ever been married?"

Carissa- "No."

 

Oliver- "Me neither.  Ever asked?"

Carissa- "Nope."

Oliver- "Have you ever been in love?"

Carissa- "Once."

Oliver- "Do you think about him?"

Carissa- "Maybe in a how is life going for him kind of way."

Oliver- "I see...do you have any addictions?"

Carissa- "Um, no I do not."

Oliver- "That's awesome.  Do you like kids?"

Carissa- "Yes, I love kids."

Oliver- "Do you have any?"

Carissa- "No, not yet."

Oliver- "Hm, so you would like to?"

Carissa- "Without a doubt."

Oliver- "Great, that's something we have in common.  I want 4."

Carissa- "...Cool."

Oliver- "Would you call yourself a saver or spender?"

Carissa- "..."

 

Meanwhile, Kelly comes out from the kitchen to check on things.

 

Kelly- "Doing okay out here?"

Francesca- "Things are kinda slow.  Should I be worried boss lady?  I mean it's kinda been a trend lately."

 

Kelly takes a look around the café- "No, things are good."

 

Kelly- "I'm gonna finish up in the kitchen, holler if you need me."

Francesca- "Okay."

 

Carissa and Oliver have finished eating.

 

Oliver- "Thanks so much for having breakfast with me."

Carissa- "Sure, it was...interesting."

Oliver- "I'm sorry, I'm aware that I pounded you with questions."

 

Oliver- "I didn't want to waste any of our time seeing if we were compatible.  I hope that I haven't scared you away and you'll take my future calls and give me a chance."

 

Carissa- "Well, it was a bit uncomfortable.  Although, I do appreciate your honesty and understand to some degree, so...I wouldn't mind seeing you again."

 

Oliver- "Wow, I am so happy to hear that."

Carissa- Well, thanks for breakfast, but I really have to get to work.  Have a safe trip back to Connecticut."

Oliver- "Have a great day at work."

 

They say their good-byes and Carissa leaves not completely sure about Oliver, but she's willing to see where it goes.
